St. Patrick’s
Catholic Church
Churches are a specialty for RTM, and we take immense pride in our vast catalogue of ecclesiastical restorations. For the beautiful St. Patrick’s Church in Kinkora, Ontario, our team executed a complex exterior masonry and steeple replacement program on this High Victorian Gothic landmark.
Project Scope
RTM was engaged to perform a comprehensive exterior restoration on St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The highly technical scope centered around a complete exterior masonry restoration of the church's historic tower, alongside the careful removal and replacement of its aging steeple.
Our specialized in-house trades were deployed to manage the intricate scaffolding access, heavy masonry work, and the custom sheet metal fabrication required for the new structural elements.
Notable Details
In place of the original steeple structure, our teams engineered and erected a robust new steel-framed steeple. This modern framework was then meticulously clad in premium Lead-Coated Copper (LCC) by our master coppersmiths, ensuring exceptional weather resistance while maintaining a historically accurate and beautiful aesthetic.
In addition to the extensive steeple and tower masonry work, the RTM carpentry team also conducted delicate storm window restorations to protect the building's historic interior glazing and improve the overall performance of the envelope.
Final Result
The completed restoration successfully preserved the stunning High Victorian Gothic architecture of St. Patrick’s Church.
By seamlessly integrating modern steel framing with traditional LCC copper cladding and expert masonry repointing, RTM ensured this beautiful Kinkora landmark remains a structurally secure, weather-tight, and inspiring place of worship for generations to come.
