Roof Tile Management performed an extensive exterior renovation on the stunning Former Galt Post Office in Cambridge, Ontario. The multi-year project included comprehensive heritage restoration across roofing, masonry, and architectural metalwork to preserve this iconic civic landmark.

Project Scope

The extensive exterior renovation of the Former Galt Post Office required the coordinated deployment of RTM's in-house masonry, sheet metal, carpentry, and slate roofing teams.

The scope encompassed a complete revitalization of the building's exterior envelope and iconic architectural features to ensure long-term structural and aesthetic stability.

Notable Details

Highlighting our specialized roofing and metalwork capabilities, the project included the complete replacement of the historic slate roof, complete with the installation of robust snow guards, custom lead-coated copper flashings, and structurally reinforced gutters for premium weather protection.

Our carpentry division simultaneously executed the meticulous heritage restoration of the building's original wood windows, preserving the authentic facade and sightlines of the property.

Final Result

In addition to the extensive rebuilding and repointing of the exterior masonry, a crowning achievement of this assignment was the careful and highly specialized restoration of the building's iconic cast-iron clocks.

The completed multi-year renovation successfully preserved the stunning architectural legacy of the Former Galt Post Office, securing its place as a treasured centerpiece for the Cambridge community.
